August 24, 2009 — Chad Reed claimed his first AMA Pro Motocross Championship title this past Saturday at the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series held at Maryland's Budds Creek Motocross Park.

The 2009 AMA Motocross season proved to be one of Reed's the most successful seasons of his career earning the two-time AMA Supercross Champion five wins as well as the championship title. Reed finished runner-up in the first motocross race, then proved to be relentless on the track as he focused on an early lead the in the second race ultimately gaining the championship win with two races left in the season. The Australian native started Saturday's event with an 82-point lead over his closest competitor catapulting him to an undefeatable 104 overall points.

"Last time I raced Budds Creek I got 3rd place so to come back and not only win, but to wrap up the championship is especially sweet! I am looking forward to savoring the last two races of the series and putting on a show for the fans," said Reed on his recent championship.

Fellow Wasserman athlete, Davi Millsaps, also secured a position on podium at the Budds Creek race with a 2nd place finish.

The next stop of the AMA Motocross Series will be August 29th at Moto-X 338 Park in Southwick, Massachusetts with same day race coverage on SPEED TV. Check your local listings for times.
