Most people who rode a board and watched snowboard/skateboard/BMX/surf/whatever videos in the '90s hold a particular affection for the Beastie Boys and their music, which dominated a generation's worth of soundtracks and radio airwaves. But when Adam Yauch passed away from a long battle with cancer, it evoked a particular kind of sadness for snowboarders. He might have been a rockstar, but he was also a man who held a season pass at Snowbird, woke up before dawn to get first tracks on powder days and wished he could ride like Terje.
