Wallride, wallride, wallride, wallride...you get it.
Years ago, Mark Gonzales made a short appearance on his circle board creation in Thomas Campbell's "A Love Supreme" short film about NYC skating that he filmed for Supreme skate shop. It was quite spectacular—the kind of thing that made you wish you had a sweet outlet for free product or had saved all your old trucks and boards to bolt your own circle contraption together. As is the case with weird art projects, however, it's just easier to live vicariously through the creator (existential question: is the difference between the contemporary theoretical artist—the kind that makes deities out of dung or performs one act plays naked, while crouching in a brown paper box—and everyone else, the ability or desire to actually do those things and, perhaps, not the talent? Just sayin').

In this case, however, there's no questioning the talent of Mr. Gonz and the people around him—like Anthony Pappalardo and William Strobeck. Their little crew feels a lot like what the Factory or the Pollock-Krasner house, felt like, I'm guessing, if either of those NY art movements had skateboarders in them and I cared about them more. As a skateboarder, there's nothing not to love about a couple pro skateboarders exploring NYC on a circular skateboard contraption. Have a look at their circle board...

...the clip leads me down memory lane: remember Pop's part in I.E.? Did you see his art show?

If you want more Gonz, there's always the Gonz video library.
