Feelin' Minnesota
I miss those fall colors...a lot.
Growing up in Wisconsin, a state with seasons not unlike Minnesota, not enough can be said about the beauty of fall. It's a nuanced seasonthe trees turning into a mosaic of yellows, reds, oranges and browns and the warm smell of burning wood making the season a warm one, even as the air becomes increasingly cooler. I miss that point in the year, settling instead, for the sometimes cloudy sky of Southern Cali's fall and the turn of the clocks that make night come all too soon. Those really are my only indicators, which is upsetting until I call friends back in the Midwest and can hear the seasonal depression in their voices. But, Minnesota is doing a wonderful job of keeping spirits high and a tight scene. It good to see a wealth of talent in the Midwest. Their most recent project, backed by Red Bull Skateboarding has a seasonal breakdown of their scene, from skating downtown Minneapolis'* to blocks of ice to cornfields. It's worth visiting all seasons of Minnesota.
