The wonderful and welcoming Romano family were rewarded for opening up to spectators and skateboarding as a whole. Their commitment to fight childhood Leukemia runs deep with the passing of Johnny and for that, there aren't enough awards to give them.

Few skateboarding events hit me in the same way that the Johnny Romano Skate Jam does. I'll have a whole write-up on the story behind the event and quotes from top pros that knew Johnny or supported the cause.

For now, the few results they had went as follows: Recent father, Andrew Pott, won on the Zumiez, Chris Cole won first for the "Tech Center" ledge, flat rail and manual pad and Aquil Brathwaite. Luis Tolentino won the top shredder of the whole event, because he did something cool on every section of the park.

All contest "winnings" went to the Make-A-Wish foundation and everyone involved with putting it on was so stoked with the turn-out. Thanks to the Romanos and the people at Southside Skateshop.
