Michael BurnettLance Mountain is still sparking sessions and inspiring skaters of several generations.
Now more than ever, skateboarding embraces all ages and generations. Where the average pro career once ranged between 18 and 25, now many of the top pros in the world are entering their mid 30s and still progressing (3/4 of the pro team at Girl is over 30. Trip on that). And what of the old guard, those classic skaters who've crossed the threshold of the big 4-0? They're still going strong as well. When guys like Lance Mountain are still putting out gnarly new video parts in the their mid-40s and Tony Hawk can still spin 720s on command it gets harder to argue that skateboarding is simply a young man's game. It's looking more and more like the fountain of youth. Gallery »
