Tosh RiceWes Kremer remembers his early time as a grom in the San Diego scene.

Wes Kremer is probably the most talented skateboarder I have ever met. He was better at 13 than most could hope to be at any point in their lives. With a nonchalant approach to life and an insufferable drive for skateboarding, Kremer is the kind of guy that most companies would kill for. And to be quite honest, I think more than a handful of teams have tried to slide some pretty impressive offers under Kremer's table. However Kremer has maintained a fierce loyalty to his extended family at Sk8mafia since the day Dan "DC" Connelly handed him his first shirt, that fateful day at the Chino blocks.

Kremer's loyalty extends beyond the brands that back him. He has skated with virtually the same crew since first stepping foot on a board at age 7. With a wind of support filling his sails, Wes is headed full-bore in the right direction towards an inevitable pro career. In this episode of "Switch Stance," I caught up with Wes at his boyhood home in the pristine suburbs of Carmel Valley, Calif. Sometimes you've got to check out the past to see what the future holds. Feature video after the jump.
