WHAT IT IS:
Alchemy Traction Solutions was born when founder Mike de Camp, plauged by kickflips, decided to create a pattern in his grip tape to serve as a visual place marker. The trick was learned, and the rest is history.
WHY IT RULES:
Alchemy features three patterns and two types of all-black grip tape. The patterns -- dubbed the Matrix, the Flower of Life and the Evolution (all $13) -- are die-cut, recyclable and based on ancient themes, and the two all-black sheets of grip tape ($5.28) are made from special materials to help enhance your skateboarding. "Alchemy is exactly what I try to get out of skateboarding: fun," says team rider Andrew Cannon.
