Brazilian badass Leticia Bufoni, kickflip over the bump.
Much to my surprise, the Women's Street final was actually really enjoyable. Elissa Steamer was getting all Elissa on the course. Marisa Dal Santo, the little Brazilian Leticia Bufoni and Elissa all kickflipped the big faux-China bump-to-bump. They all tackled the double set. There were some boardslides and 5-0s on the rail. I told one of the cameramen they should shoot girl's street in 3-D, if you know what I mean. And I think that you do.
Last year, skating on her 21st birthday, Marisa Dal Santo came out of nowhere to take first, unseating Elissa from her assumed top spot for the first time in three years. This year, Elissa stepped up and took her title right back. (Second, third and fourth places went to Marisa, Amy Caron, and Leticia Bufoni.)
So what was I saying? Three hours of my life spent only to learn what I already knew? Elissa is the best, and Zero skateboards (sponsor of both Elissa and Marisa) knows how to pick the ladies.
