Somewhere, some place in middle America, or anywhere in the world for that matter, there is a loyal Emerica/Altamont/Baker/Deathwish/ShakeJunt pawn that's watching each and every video of The Goat & The Occasional Others and checking their myspace page for the next song or album or whatever to drop. There are sh*tloads of these people and they're going to go apesh*t when the The Goat releases their new LP through Altamont or happens to amble through to play their town on the way to SXSW. But when your band consists of Reynolds, Spanky, BEAGLE oneISM (what does that mean? I've always wondered), Atiba, the twisted lyrics of Shane Heyl and whichever pro skateboarder happens to pick up an instrument that week, hype beams in all directions and people will take notice to see what the f**k's going on. Meanwhile, The Goat keeps coming up.Josh Brooks
You have an LP coming out, right? Could you explain how that came about? The album is called "THE GOAT SPEAKS", just got w/ a sick ass click and went all out, Andrew Reynolds, Beagle oneISM, Kevin "Spanky" Long & Atiba Jefferson. Big shout out to Timmy "The Terror" Anderson, Filip "Turbotitio" Nikolic & Marcus for all the help in recording the album.

Whenever I've heard you play, I'm always reminded of a rougher Captain Beefheart with more rap jargon thrown in there. Other people see other things entirely. Did you guys ever have any idea of a sound you wanted, or did you just get together and play whatever? Drew comes up w/ a riff, I put the lyrics down, then Beagle oneISM, Kevin "Spanky" Long, & Atiba Jefferson put the goodness on top. BANG! LUH DAT SH*T!!!
Are there stories behind the lyrics or did you just kind of make them up? Like, what's "Tantalizing" about? Or is it just what it is? A lot of the lyrics come from my drinkin' & drugin' career I put to an end 2 1/2 years ago, w/ a twist of madness & anxiety. The song "Tantalizing" is what it is. "Scared money, don't make money".
How would you describe the crowd you've had at shows? Do you have any funny stories from the shows you've had already? "GET BUCK!!!" The show we did for "Pearcey's B-Day Bash" in AZ got on a good one when Dustin "Spawn" Dollin grabed my homie Greg's (Hollywood Kill) pogo instrument w/ all these symbols, bells, & trinkets on it. Instantly adding this noise maker to our songs while people were getting thrown on stage running into em' & breaking it down. Becoming an occasional other right away. Good times, thanks Dustin.
You've basically got the kick-off show to the No Age/Goat tour in Costa Mesa at the Detroit bar on March 5th, which begins a tour with Altamont. Is there any plan to turn it all into a tour video set to both bands? Whatever kind of footage we can get our hands on we just hold onto. For "THE GOAT" chronicles one day.
What does the Goat mean to you? Stay in the moment.
