Classic Styles

At left we've got Tommy Guerrero. An abandoned school yard provided a safe haven for our lone quarterpipe during the summer of 1981 where Guerrero was still an undiscovered style master on this double-grabbed frontside air. At right we have Ricky Windsor. Weekend skate jams were a common occurrence in the Bay Area during the '80s. A mixture of ramps, slider bars and curbs would entertain the gathering as the afternoons burned away. Sacramento's Windsor tweaks a handplant at a regular gathering in Berkeley, California in November of 1986. (Bryce Kanights)
