The Pacific Northwest join the pre-season party this week, with Mt. Hood Meadows in Oregon opening November 11, and Mt. Baker in Washington opening one day later. And in typical Northwest fashion, these resorts aren't opening with a few butter boxes and jibs -- Baker is reporting a 72-inch base with half a foot of fresh within the past 24 hours. As reported on their website, "Mt. Baker has received a huge amount of snow in the past week to make one of the deepest bases we've ever had this time of year." So if you're looking for some serious early season goods, Baker is holding.
Other areas of the country continue to open as well: Brighton Resort in Utah cranked up the lifts on November 11, and Breckenridge, Colorado opened today as well.
