Updated November 16, 2009: Whistler opened this past Saturday, and has enjoyed approximately 30 inches of snowfall since. The mountain's current base is 62 inches.
If you're connected into social media at all, you may have seen this photo of Annie Boulanger blasting some early season pow at Whistler ... but just in case you missed it, we're posting it here, as if we haven't pounded into your head just how good it is in the Pacific Northwest right now -- considering it's mid-November.
With Mt. Baker and Crystal open in Washington, and Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline open in Oregon, Whistler Blackcomb joined the cool kids club and opened ahead of schedule this past Saturday, November 14 -- two weeks earlier than planned.
The resort has seen more than 40 inches of fresh snow in the past seven days and will open to riders with a respectable 37 inch base (Baker opened with 72). Since opening, Whistler Blackcomb's snow total has doubled.
