Jenny Jones, today's top female Snowboard Slopestyle elims competitor, qualified with a whopping score of 96.33. Her run included three straight airs, two 3s and a backside 180 with a butt check. After her first run, she commented that the course was "so slow, it was embarrassing. It makes us look really bad."

Or, really good, if you happen to be a judge.

Speed seemed to be the main issue during Wednesday's elims, with a number of girls (nearly half the field) opting not to hit all the features. Kjersti Oestgaard Buaas, the fourth rider to drop, was the first to land a full run. At the bottom of the course, she looked back up and said, "I think I just did four indies ... I'm just trying to stay up." After crashing on a 5 on her second run, Buaas said, "I just dislocated my shoulder, but I put it back in." Score: 40. She advanced to the finals in the sixth spot.

Dave LehlJenny Jones was throwing down bangers in Tuesday's practice, but the snow overnight slowed the course to a near standstill for the ladies Wednesday.

Crashes also plagued Jamie Anderson, who opted not to compete after nasty bails in Tuesday's practice, and Cheryl Maas, who went down hard in her first elims run, going for a 7.

Swiss ripper Sina Candrian qualified second with a run that included the only frontside 720 of the day. Spencer O'Brien (or Obrin, as the announcer called her) qualified third.

Six riders will compete in finals on Friday.
