Cole BarashJohn Jackson is just one of many snowboard legends frequenting Eagle Pass these days.

Ever wonder what it'd be like to hop in an A-Star with Nicolas Müller or Johan Olofsson and follow them into the kind of terrain you've seen in the best snowboard films? Eagle Pass Heli in Revelstoke, B.C. is offering two special all-snowboard weeks this season where you can do just that: Jan 9-15 and April 2-8, 2012. All you need is the sack -- and a sack of money.

"Heliboard Week" is a perfect fit with Eagle Pass as former pro rider Scott Newsome, 35, is a partner there. He also holds the bragging rights to being the first ACMG certified guide to do his entire program by splitboard in 2005. "After several cut-throat sponsorship agreements and a few severe injuries, I chose to cut my losses and moved to Revelstoke, B.C. (from Whistler), to pursue guiding," he explains. He's been in the area for 14 years and knows the Monashees like the back of his hand.

Eagle Pass is quickly gaining a reputation among the snow-sliding elite as a place to access dream lines without going to Alaska and will be partnered with Tailgate Alaska's new B.C. event for 2012.

If that's not enough for you, "The Art of Flight" filmed at Eagle Pass over the last two winters, too: "I really enjoyed working with The Brain Farm crew," says Newsome. "To me, Travis Rice represents a new breed of freerider more powerful and creative than anyone before him. It is the progression that I have always envisioned for the sport since I started snowboarding as a kid. Over the years I have ridden in some of the best locations in the world but honestly the best terrain is all in my back yard."

Eagle Pass' mix of terrain is defined by alpine AK style spines, ramps and open bowls along with mellower tree line rippers and virgin pow natural halfpipes. Oh, and awesome naturally-spaced old growth and pillow lines and some of Eagle's runs are in excess of 5,000 feet.

Riding in a heli to go rip untouched pow is fun whether you're with skiers or snowboarders but these special shredder weeks are a golden opportunity for regular joes to ride like -- and maybe even with -- their heroes: "There is a whole other group of snowboarders emerging: people who've been snowboarding for 10 to 20 years and are now successful professionals that dream to have a backcountry experience away from the lift lines and crowds," says Newsome. "I represent a new generation of guide along with that new breed of clientele, with a big mountain background and an understanding of the type of terrain and specific natural features that the new generation would expect of their heli experience."

Guest pros are still subject to filming and competition schedules but Nicolas Müller, DCP and Johan Olofsson are confirmed, so who cares who the others are?! That's like going to church with God right there...
