Guldemond, Anderson win BCO slope

On Saturday, she made her way through the technical jib section with a boardslide to tailslide 270 out and tailslide to fakie, then mixed it up in the jumps with back-to-back-to-back 540 variations -- Cab 5, backside 5, switch backside 5 -- and sealed the deal with a tail grab to backside 50-50 to backside 180 out in the final jib section, positively dominating her competition.

"Feels great to be back in Calgary this year," Anderson said, in a statement after the competition. "Weather is beautiful, it's a fun course and I landed a good run as well as all my 5's."

In the men's final Guldemond topped an all-American podium, with Justin Morgan in second and Brandon Reis in third. His winning run featured a frontside lipslide, backside 180 to 360 out, and half Cab 180 to backside 180 out in the jib section, backed up by a switch backside 900, backside double cork 1080, and backside rodeo 900 on the jumps section, and a Cab 270 backside lipslide to frontside boardslide on the final jib section.

"This is a complete turnaround from last year," Guldemond said, after the competition. "I felt really good and was really stoked on the event. The weather was great and is the best I've ever experienced at a contest. This was an awesome contest and Burton took good care of us."

The TTR World Tour continues next week with its new signature 6Star event, the World Snowboarding Championships, Feb. 12-19 in Oslo, Norway. The Burton Global Open Series picks up again the following week, Feb. 25-March 3, with the Burton European Open at LAAX, Switzerland, and concludes March 7-10 with the 30th annual Burton U.S. Open at Stratton Mountain in Vermont.
