Kassia Meador, focusing in on something more than hanging heels.
For the past week or so Alex Knost, Thomas Campbell, Kassia Meador and artistic entourage have been wandering the mixed up streets of Japan, presumably surfing small waves, doodling and noodling, and eating weird cuisine. What is known for sure is that over the weekend they converged on Yokohama for the annual Green Room Festival, each one displaying their own creative perspective on the surf world in which we live, and hopefully thrive.
"I'm really proud to be a part of the Green Room Festival. It's an honor to have my projects among the amazing films, art works and music being shared," said Kassia. "This will be the first time I'm showing my photos too, so I'm super amped about that."
Along with Kassia's photos, Thomas Campbell screened his latest film, The Present, Donavon Frankenreiter got groovy with his mustachioed melodies, Ray Barbee and the Mattson 2 did their thing, and well, there are too many other groovy folk to keep carrying on.
Since, tragically, I'm not hip enough to run in these circles I'll spare you any more of my drivel, but before I say good bye for the day, filmer/photographer Jon Steele was kind enough to compose this video with Kassia before she left. Check it out, she gets deep about her photography, her friendship with Thomas Campbell and the crew, and why it's so hard to find a good longboard for a lady.
