Dusty Payne

Oahu, Kauai, even the Big Island have all had their moment in the sun, and now it would appear it is Maui's time to shine. Dusty Payne is the first surfer from the Valley Isle to ever make the World Tour, and by all accounts he's going to be around for a long time to come. Maybe the most well rounded surfer to join the World Tour in 2010, thanks to his island upbringing, the 21-year-old Lahina local is competent in anything from two-foot wind slop to heaving 10-foot Chopes. "Last year I set myself up and got a good seed for this year," Payne said shortly after clinching his tour berth. "I figured I might as well try and go for it. To be on the World Tour the first year I tried, I can't even describe how I feel right now, I'm so stoked." (Jason Kenworthy)
