This year, the hype machine started much earlier, when scientists announced that the water in the very breeding grounds of these turning tyrants was at a record high. Nothing happened early. Then summer was less than stellar, leaving most to wonder if we'd been played (again.) Over the last ten days, Hurricanes Danielle and Earl proved that wasn't the case. And now is when the Atlantic might just be getting warmed up.
