WX15: Spectator information
Winter X Games 15 will take place Jan. 27-30, 2011 at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colo. The event is free to the public. All events are held outside, so proper outdoor attire is recommended.
-- Event Parking will be at the Brush Creek Transfer Lot (also known as the Intercept Lot) at
Hwy 82 and Brush Creek Rd. Free Shuttles will be provided.
-- For the safety and comfort of all guests, the following items are not allowed at the Winter X Games: large bags, weapons, alcohol, coolers, pets - unless it is a working animal, i.e. guide dog; folding chairs, large umbrellas, laser-lights, noisemakers, i.e. air-horns; beverages in unsealed containers of any kind. All bags are subject to search at all times, on or in the parking lots, shuttles and Buttermilk properties.
-- Guests may not bring beverages into the facility during events. The only exceptions are non-alcoholic plastic factory sealed containers.
-- Winter X Games is a non-smoking, alcohol-free event. Please refrain from smoking in all public areas. Tailgating is not permitted in the Intercept Lot.
-- The Winter X Games reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone at any time. Large posters and banners must be checked by security before being allowed in the venue. Winter X Games reserves the right to refuse admission of any signage at any time. Sticks or poles to hold flags/banners are not permitted.
-- Gates and/or specific competition venues will be closed when capacity is reached.
The venue will be open to guests and spectators during the following dates and times:
Thursday, January 27 -- 10:00 am - 9:45 pm
Friday, January 28 -- 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday, January 29 -- 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Sunday, January 30 --10:00 am - 7:30 pm
Guest Services Information
The Guest Service tent is the designated area for all event information. Event schedule, venue activities, lost and found, wheelchair viewing maps and other event services are offered. Guest Services is located at the entrance of X Fest.
A designated wheelchair viewing area has been established at the patio deck of Bumps Lodge. Staff in the Guests Services tent will be available to escort an individual to the wheel chair viewing area. Please locate a Guests Services representative at the venue entrance or go to the Guest Services tent located in X Fest for information and assistance.
ATM machines are located inside Bumps Lodge, lower level.
Food and drink concessions will be provided on site and will be located in the base area, near the Inn at Aspen. The Inn at Aspen patio will also be providing food and outdoor seating. A full-service restaurant is also located inside Bumps Lodge.
Free interactive parks are offered in X Fest, located at the base area of Buttermilk Mountain. The WARHEADS Snowskate Park and the X Fest SnowPark are both open to the public; patrons must sign a waiver (children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) and wear a helmet. Equipment, helmets and waivers will be provided by X Fest staff at the Park Waiver Tent. The X Fest SnowPark will also feature state and regional USASA competitions, along with a Shop v. Shop contest. Check the parks for a complete list of scheduled events.
Lost Children and Lost and Found
The Guest Services tent is designated as the meeting point for lost or separated people. The Lost and Found is located at the Guest Services tent. Items that are found should be turned into staff at this location. Guests reporting any lost items should be directed there as well.
On-site medical is available to guests. If you have or see a medical emergency, please contact an ESPN staff member or Security immediately and they will notify medical personnel. The Spectator Medical tent is located next to Bumps in the base area. Water and basic medical services are provided by trained staff.
Winter X Games Merchandise tent will be selling Official Winter X Games Merchandise, located at the main entrance near the shuttle drop area and in the X Fest Area.
Winter X Games is a non-smoking venue. Please refrain from smoking in all public areas.
Public Pay Phones
Public pay phones are available inside of Bumps Lodge.
Public restrooms are located inside Bumps Lodge. Additional public restrooms are set up directly across from Bumps main entrance doors as well as to the south of bumps/hill side adjacent to the Lodge Tent.
Security Check Points are located at the entrance and exit to the venue. Event Security personnel are also patrolling the venue and will assist with crowd and access control.
