White to compete at Winter X Tignes
Trevor Brown, Jr./ESPN Shaun White plans to compete in Slopestyle and SuperPipe at Winter X Tignes 2012.According to a release issued on Wednesday, Snowboarder Shaun White plans to compete at Winter X Games Tignes 2012, which will return to France for its third year from March 14 - 16. White, the defending SuperPipe gold medalist from Winter X Aspen, has not competed in the Tignes event before.
White plans to compete in both Snowboard Slopestyle and SuperPipe. After spraining his ankle during practice, White pulled out of the Slopestyle finals at Winter X Aspen, but returned the following day to earn a perfect score in the halfpipe.
In Tignes, White will be among 150 athletes at the event, including other gold medalists from Aspen -- Mark McMorris, Jamie Anderson, Kelly Clark, David Wise, Tom Wallisch, Kaya Turski and Roz Groenewoud.

Additional athletes who are confirmed as of Wednesday on the third and final invite list are France's Xavier Bertoni and Mathieu Crepel; Australia's Torah Bright; Norway's Mikkel Bang; Switzerland's Virginie Faivre; and USA's Mason Aguirre and Ellery Hollingsworth.
