Memorable Moment 13: Jake Brown's Slam and Resurrection
Everyone forgets this, but Jake Brown was winning the Big Air going into his second run. With solid 95.33 under his belt, Brown would have been able to simply take a victory lap were it not for Bob Burnquist, who would get the final jump of the event. So Brown went for it, blowing his competitors minds with a 720 over the gap before bringing the world to a halt with his 47-foot freefall. Surviving the fall made Brown an instant hero. Walking off under his own power made him a legend. And so everyone forgets that when Burnquist took that final run, he only manage to beat Brown by 33 tenths of a point. Tags: Actionsports, Skateboard
