Memorable Moment 15: The Ups and Downs of Danny Way

When Danny Way's shins smashed into the coping and sent him head-first to the flat-bottom of the Mega Ramp, the action sports world had a nasty collective flashback to Jake Brown's horrific crash a year earlier. But this time around, Way refused to allow the crash to be the story. When the event doctor questioned the wisdom of continuing to compete, rumor has it Way administered his own cortisone shot. When he reappeared at the top of the Mega in-run, the roar in the Staples Center was the loudest since Pastrana's double back. And when Way shook off yet another crash before pulling a backflip to frontside 540 on his third and final run, it actually made Bob Burnquist cry. Tags: Actionsports, Skateboard
