Memorable Moment 6: Metzger Back-to-Back Backflips

Metzger arrived to X Games 8 in the midst of a backflip arms race between himself and Travis Pastrana. Each was gunning to be the first to land the trick in competition, but when Pastrana couldn't go due to injury, the stage was all Metzger's and he didn't disappoint. Though acknowledged as "The Godfather" of freestyle moto, Metzger had never performed well at X Games. In Philadelphia, he was untouchable. By landing the first two competition backflips, back to back, he put himself nearly eight points ahead of second place and cemented his place in action sports history. Tags: Actionsports, Moto X
