Memorable Moment 8: Sheckler Wins Gold at 13
Before his MTV show, his teen idol status, and his Escalade--hell, before his voice even changed--Ryan Sheckler was a 13-year-old skateboarding prodigy who came to X Games 9 riding an unprecedented competition streak. He'd already won Gravity Games and Slam City Jam, and before the year was over he'd add the Vans Triple Crown and World Cup Skateboarding titles, too. The most impressive thing about his X Games win that year wasn't that it made him the youngest Gold Medalist in the event's history; it's that he did it weighing less than 100 pounds.
