POMONA, Calif. -- Jerry Toliver earned his first career Funny Car victory Sunday at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.

Toliver beat nine-time NHRA Winston Funny Car champion John Force, covering the quarter-mile in 6.717 seconds at 300.33 mph. Force finished in 8.897 at 122.31.

Dunn completed a sweep of the Pomona events when his Top Fuel dragster sped down the track in 4.668 at 291.35. Dunn also won the season-opening event here in February.

Coughlin's run of 6.876 at 200.29 beat NHRA Winston Pro Stock champion Warren Johnson, who finished in 6.977 at 194.97.

Brown won his third Pro Stock Motorcycle race this season when Craig Treble fouled at the start. Earlier in the day, Matt Hines clinched his third straight NHRA Winston championship when he earned a quarterfinal victory and Angelle Seeling did not advance.

Johns completed his run in 7.561 at 178.85 to defeat Winston Pro Stock Truck champion Bob Panella, who covered the distance in 7.504 at 178.50.
