The Independance Bowl and Texas Bowl might have just found the two teams they're looking for. Virginia, NC State AND Clemson are all one half closer to bowl eligibility right now.:

CLEMSON 24, SOUTH CAROLINA 7

The most surprising game is in Clemson, S.C., where the Tigers are absolutely dominating. There really isn't much more athletic director Terry Don Phillips could ask of Dabo Swinney at this point. The Tigers look much more like the team many expected them to be, and the playmakers are making plays.

GEORGIA 28, GEORGIA TECH 12

If it weren't for Morgan Burnett's interception, this would be an entirely different game. That was quarterback Matt Stafford's lone mistake, otherwise, he has played an impressive first half and receiver Mohamed Massaquoi has returned the favor. Georgia's defense is playing like it had two weeks to prepare for Paul Johnson's offense. (Oh wait, it did). Clearly the prep time helped.

VIRGINIA 14, VIRGINIA TECH 7

Yeah, an interception in the end zone is never good, and Sean Glennon isn't likely to win over any fans with that one. Can't blame that on Bryan Stinespring. Kudos to Al Groh and his staff for making good use of cornerback Vic Hall, who has accounted for all of the Cavs points in this game. The staff this week had considered using Hall in the popular "Wildcat" formation. Georgia Tech might be losing to Georgia, but right now they're winning the Coastal Division.

NC STATE 17, MIAMI 14

The Canes can't beat Russell Wilson's feet. The most impressive play from Miami probably came from Dedrick Epps' touchdown, where the YAC stat (yards after catch) accounted for the bulk of the score. The Wolfpack are playing with a purpose. The Jacory Harris interception was yet another example of why Randy Shannon's formula for the quarterbacks doesn't work. There's nothing wrong with playing them both, but he inserts Harris in at the same time every game, regardless of the flow, and it hurt them again.
