ACC's Top 25 player countdown: No. 9

No 9. Rodney Hudson, LG, Florida State

2009 numbers: Hudson a posted team-high season average grade of 87 over 11 starts after missing the final two regular season games with a knee sprain. The injury ended his streak of 28 consecutive starts. He finished the year with 38 knockdown blocks. He did not allow a sack or a quarterback pressure all season.

Last ranking: No. 8

Making the case for Hudson: Barring any injuries or inexplicable drop-offs in performance, Hudson should become the first offensive lineman in league history to earn all-ACC honors four times. On a team that had a penchant for penalties, Hudson was penalized only twice last year and missed a total of four assignments. Hudson was at his best against the best, as he graded out at 97 against ACC champ Georgia Tech and runner-up Clemson.
