Florida State is looking like old-school FSU -- at least in ESPN.com's latest recruiting rankings, where the Noles check in at No. 4.
Florida State has eight commitments from ESPNU 150 players. The rest of the ACC? It combined for 12, with Clemson accounting for four of them. Boston College, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, NC State, Maryland and Duke don't have any.
Not that a boatload of ESPNU 150 players guarantees anything. Each team has to recruit to suit its individual needs and the type of player that meets its standards on and off the field. It just shows that Florida State is at the front of this ACC recruiting class when it comes to luring what is perceived to be the country's best high school athletes.
Here's how the rest of the ACC fared:
No. 11 UNC (How many of those players were recruited by former recruiting coordinator John Blake? Does it matter?)
No. 12 Clemson (A five-star WR and a four-star WR: mission accomplished)
No. 18 Virginia (Surprise! And kudos to Mike London)
No. 23 Miami (The Canes' ranking should be going up, not down)
