Greetings from Carter-Finley Stadium

RALEIGH, N.C. -- There's a definite buzz around the stadium here, but rain has put a bit of a damper on the tailgating scene. It poured at one point, but it has since stopped, and Weather.com is only calling for a 20 percent chance of rain during the game. If it does rain, the weather will be working in Florida State's favor, as the team that runs the ball better tends to have more success. And Florida State runs the ball very, very well.

This is one of the most meaningful ACC games of the season, as the Atlantic Division standings are at stake. NC State's lone conference loss came to Virginia Tech, a Coastal Division opponent, so it would take the lead over the Noles, who are currently undefeated in conference play.

Florida State is the better team here, but the better team doesn't always win. NC State has defeated Florida State three of the past five times they've met when the Seminoles were ranked. Whether or not the Wolfpack finds a way to do it again depends a lot on if it can stop the run -- rain or not.

Feel free to join me, national blogger Andrea Adelson and ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach Thursday night in a live chat during the game. Check for updates throughout the match.
