The big story in the ACC? Bobby Bowden and those 14 victories the NCAA wants to take away.
- Bobby Bowden and Florida State await word from the NCAA on their appeal of sanctions resulting from an academic cheating scandal, which included taking away as many as 14 victories from Bowden's coaching record. Think Penn State's Joe Paterno might raise an eyebrow, too? As for Bowden, he played golf Monday.
- Miami's new athletic director is cost-cutting because fundraising is dragging.
- North Carolina has picked up a football recruit. And a baseball recruit. And they are the same guy.
- Considering Virginia's Andrew Devlin decision to transfer to Pittsburgh.
- Athlon's preseason poll has Virginia Tech No. 8.
