VIRGINIA CAVALIERS

The class

Recruits: 26

Top prospects: There are five ESPNU 150 players in this class, highlighted by four-star cornerback Demetrious Nicholson, and two athletes in Darius Jennings and Dominique Terrell, both ranked among the top 20 athletes in the country.

Needs met: The staff put an emphasis on linemen with 11 in this class, including five defensive ends and four offensive tackles. Cornerback was also a concern, and Virginia added two, along with two safeties.

Analysis: More than any one position, Virginia needed speed and athleticism, and the Hoos got it in this class. Most of the recruits are over 6-feet tall and have played multiple positions. You’ll notice five “athletes” in this class, and that’s exactly what the program needed. It was a great job by Mike London and his staff in building a strong foundation for the program and recruiting better players than the ones they inherited.
