Why he's here: He's one of the most accurate passers in the country, and he made NC State an entirely different team when he was healthy enough to play. Wilson has thrown 249 straight passes without an interception, the longest streak in school history and the longest active streak in the nation. He threw fewer interceptions than any of the top 100 passers in the nation last year. For the season, Wilson had just one interception in 275 attempts, and it was a desperation heave against Clemson.
Wilson led the ACC in passing efficiency (133.9), touchdown passes (17) and total offense (213.0). He ranked sixth in the ACC in passing yards per game (177.7). The question is how much better he'll be in 2009. Wilson hasn't been around much for seven-on-sevens this summer because he's playing baseball in Gastonia, and he spent part of the spring playing baseball for the Wolfpack. While he's been gone, Mike Glennon has been looking rather Matt Ryan-esque, according to a few receivers. Wilson needs to find the open receivers this fall and not put himself in harm's way to get the yards with his feet that he could be earning with his arm.
