Miami coach Al Golden was asked earlier on today's ACC spring teleconference if he was leaning more toward Jacory Harris or Stephen Morris as his starting quarterback, and Golden said the decision likely won't be made until mid-August.
"Both of them did a good job," he said. "We had over 300 scrimmage reps and only totaled five or six interceptions. The emphasis has been on finding the check throws and making better decisions with the ball. I think both of those guys did that. They both showed a better command in the huddle, better leadership. They both made plays down the field in terms of explosive plays. I think it's going to go right up into the middle of August in terms of who we're going to select at that time and then build our offense around them. But clearly the competition has a long way to go."
