We've been inundated with "watch lists" this month, and most everyone of them has been reflective of the ACC's strengths. Well, here's one reflective of its weakness -- a lack of talented receivers.

That's no disrespect to Clemson's Jacoby Ford. He belongs on the Biletnikoff Award watch list as one of the 37 receivers, and he begins the season as the league's top wideout. He's the right pick for the conference. But it will be interesting to see which other receivers decide to make a name for themselves this fall -- and that includes at Clemson, where Ford will need some help and nobody has yet to truly separate himself.

Ford had 55 receptions for 710 yards and four touchdowns last year when he was second on the team in all three categories behind Aaron Kelly. He finished the year strong when he had five catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in the Gator Bowl against Nebraska.

Ford has 87 career receptions for 1,207 yards and 10 touchdowns. He ranks second among active ACC players in all three categories. Ford is 19th in Clemson history in career receptions and 21st in career reception yards.

Ford is also an All-American in track and one of the fastest receivers in the country. He won the NCAA championship in the 60 meters indoors in March of 2009.

If Ford won this award, he'd be Clemson's first. Tony Horne (1997) and Rod Gardner (2000) were named semifinalists.
