Halftime: Troy 16, Clemson 13

9/3/2011

Is this the upset ACC fans were dreading?

It could be.

It's not exactly the debut first-year offensive coordinator Chad Morris was hoping for, and first-year starting quarterback Tajh Boyd hasn't performed as well as many might have expected. The Tigers are 0-for-8 on third-downs, and have just 65 passing yards. One interception led to a Troy field goal. An underwhelming performance by Clemson, which is expected to challenge Florida State for the Atlantic Division title.

Now, the second half could be a different story, but it won't change unless the Tigers get better at converting on third down.

Clemson left the field at halftime to a chorus of boos from their fans. Yikes. So much for home field advantage in Death Valley.
