There have been a few surprises and some clues in this young season that indicate the ACC race could be even more wide open than usual:
1. Georgia Tech has the No. 24 passing offense in the country.
2. NC State is trailing Wake Forest in the division standings.
3. North Carolina had five turnovers and 94 yards worth of penalties against Rutgers. And still won.
4. Virginia is 2-0.
5. Boston College is 0-2.
Add to that the fact that Clemson has struggled against Wofford and Troy, Wake Forest got the first edge in the Atlantic Division standings, and Virginia Tech struggled offensively in its 17-10 win over East Carolina, and all signs point toward another unpredictable finish for the ACC.
