Here's a dose of ACC recruiting news for you, as reported by Tom Luginbill and the folks at ESPN.com's Scouts Inc. You can always find every update On the Trail.
Clemson nabs pledge from Watch List talent Brandon Ellerbe
Recruited as a safety, junior Brandon Ellerbe (Wadesboro, N.C./Anson) has committed to join Clemson's class of 2011, ESPN affiliate Web site TheClemsonInsider.com reports.
The Tigers were first to offer, but according to TheClemsonInsider, several other programs including Georgia and Florida were showing interest.
Two of Ellerbe's Anson teammates, three-star senior defensive tackle Tra Thomas and 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List linebacker Stephone Anthony, are also holding offers from Clemson.
Signal-caller Clint Trickett to join father and the Seminoles
Quarterback Clint Trickett (Tallahassee, Fla./North Florida Christian) has pledged to sign as part of Florida State's Class of 2010, ESPN affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com reports. Trickett's father, Rick, is the assistant head coach and offensive line coach for the Seminoles.
"I've been looking over every option possible," Trickett said. "It just came down to where I feel the most comfortable. I think I can come in and compete right away."
Clint selected FSU over Arkansas, Western Kentucky, Pittsburgh, South Florida and Louisville. Other programs such as Stanford, Central Michigan, Colorado State, Florida International, Western Michigan and Tulsa also offered Trickett.
Florida State actually offered Trickett a while back, but both sides did not want the information public in case the 6-foot-2, 168-pound trigger-man settled on another school.
Trickett passed for 2,431 yards and 25 touchdowns during his junior season. He added 400 yards and five scores on the ground.
At the Jacksonville Under Armour Combine he posted a 4.83 40-yard dash, 4.03 20-yard shuttle, 7.08 three-cone drill and 35-inch vertical.
The Seminoles now have 14 commitments.
Eduardo Clements has made decision, won't announce yet
Four-star running back Eduardo Clements (Miami/Booker T. Washington) has decided where he'll play college football but isn't ready to make a public announcement, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.
His current top four includes, Miami-FL, Georgia, Tennessee and South Florida.
"I have already made my decision with me and my family as far as where I am going to be going, but nobody will know until signing day," Clements said. "I have made my decision and I will keep that with my family. I don't want the hassle of recruiting going into the season. I have let the school know that I will be coming."
Clements discussed the coaching staff of his selection, "They are very down to Earth and they are all about the kids. There are some coaches that are just about winning, but these coaches are about school first and the way they talk to me, it is different. There were guys who play the position I play and they took me away and talked to me about what it is like. I know I will need that type of support my freshman year."
