Kudos to North Carolina for a convincing 40-6 win over The Citadel. While it wasn't exactly a marquee win over a BCS-caliber opponent, it was a win nonetheless and the ACC will take anything it can get at this point.
UNC had questions to answer on offense, and it did that in this game with 375 yards of total offense. The running game was the strength, as it is expected to be early in the season while the receivers develop. Shaun Draughn and Ryan Houston were a great one-two punch, and Yates, despite one interception, threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns.
And of course, the defense dominated, holding The Citadel to eight first downs and just 2-of-16 third-down conversions.
Like the rest of the ACC, though, UNC wasn't immune to mistakes, and had four turnovers. That won't cut it against better competition -- ask Wake Forest.
