In addition to the regular lunchtime links, I figured I'd give FSU and Miami fans something extra to chew on today since they had to wait longer than everyone else to get their seasons started:
Andrew Carter of the Orlando Sentinel did an extensive breakdown of this matchup in his blog, starting with FSU's offense vs. Miami's defense. Whichever programs wins this game could forshadow which of the two former powerhouses is leading the race "back to the top."
There's never a lack of drama when these programs meet, and for coach Bobby Bowden, it's a series that has helped define his career. In fact, he called last year's game "the best Florida State-Miami game I never want to see again."
While Bowden's legacy has been cemented, the jury is still out on Miami coach Randy Shannon.
Still, the two coaches have more in common than you might think.
And of course, don't forget the impact this game can have on recruiting for both programs.
Our Scouts Inc. Insider gives the Canes the edge.
Despite the many words that have been written about this game, most think the series has lost its luster.
Foxsports.com predicts a Florida State win.
Tonight's game could depend less on the quarterbacks and more on the running backs.
