Not one ACC team cracked the top 10 of the BCS standings in 2010, and this week, the league has two -- No. 9 Clemson and No. 10 Virginia Tech. It is the first time the ACC has had two teams in the top 10 of the BCS standings since Virginia Tech and Boston College in 2007. Despite that boost at the top of the standings, the ACC remained status quo in the latest conference power rankings from ESPN's Stats & Info department:
ESPN Stats & Info Week 10 Conference Power Rankings
When comparing the number of teams ranked from each conference in the latest BCS standings, the ACC fares a little better:
Big Ten 5
Big 12 5
Pac 12 2
Conf USA 2
Big East 1
A few notes from Stats & Info on Clemson and Virginia Tech:
It's Clemson's fourth week inside the BCS top 10 and third this season.
It's Virginia Tech's first week inside the BCS top 10 since 2007 ( No. 3 in final standings released that season)
It's the Hokies' 35th week all-time inside the top 10 (15th since they joined the ACC).
