This one is gonna hurt.

Maryland junior offensive tackle R.J. Dill has been granted his release in order to transfer.

Dill is the third player at Maryland to ask for a release since the Terps' 2-10 season ended, joining tailback D.J. Adams and defensive end David Mackall. Dill, though, has been an anchor on the offensive line, and his return would have given the Terps one of the ACC's more veteran groups up front. Dill had the most career starts (33) and most consecutive starts (30) on the team. He has one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to graduate in December.

At this point, first-year coach Randy Edsall can just fill in the name for his canned prepared good-bye statements.

“We wish R.J. well in his future athletic and academic pursuits,” Edsall said in a prepared statement. “We appreciate the commitment and effort R.J. has given to the Maryland football program.”

The obvious question: Who's next?
