The questions come in from all over the globe. Literally. Let's start with Dusty, way out in Nizhnekamsk, Russian Federation.

Dusty writes: Heather, I couldn't watch the game due to my location and I need an unbaised opinion.. Should the ref had made that holding call on T. Austin? Was it a legit call?

Heather Dinich: I think it was definitely questionable.

Steve in Arlington, Va., writes: Heather, sitting here watching the GT/Clemson game. I can't help but notice that GT's offense is the worst I've seen in years, far worse than VT's. There offense has basically accounted for 3 of the 24 points and now that Clemson has settled down, they are absolutely destroying the triple option. Assuming they lose (they are now losing 27-24), can we finally put to rest the notion that GT is some powerhouse in the ACC with some semblance of an offense? Their running game is average and their passing game - well I'm sure you are watching. Everyone needs to get a clue if they think that this joke will challenge the likes of Bud Foster's D. Don't insult his intelligence, ca'mon.

HD: Well, first of all, as we all know now they didn't lose. Second, I think Virginia Tech has been given credit lately as being the powerhouse of the ACC. Not sure you'll find many people who would dispute that, considering the Hokies have won three of the past five ACC titles. I don't think Georgia Tech's running game is "average," it just ran into a defense finally determined to stop it.

Morgan writes: so i had a question for you. Do you find it hard to write for the ACC when you graduated from Georgia Tech. Meaning, that sometimes do you feel biased to your writings

HD: I was unaware that Georgia Tech had given me any sort of honorary degree, although they should considering I've practically written a thesis on them since Paul Johnson arrived. So let's move on to Florida State, shall we? (I didn't go to school there, either.)

Joe in Tallahassee writes: Hey Heather, I was at the FSU UM game this past monday and was greatly disappointed by the FSU defense (except for Greg Reid). With BYU coming up in a couple weeks I'm very worried for our season. Mickey Andrews has worked miracles before but I think this may be too much for him. Do you think there is any chance for FSU this year?

HD: Chance? There's more than a chance, Joe, but the game that will go a long way in determining how far the Noles can go will be the Clemson game. We saw last night what Jacoby Ford and C.J. Spiller can do when turned loose (blazin'!). But you're right, FSU has problems on defense, starting with a lack of a pass rush. They also had lots of missed assignments and missed tackles, gave up too many big pass plays in the secondary, and overall looked like the young, inexperienced group they are. I believe they will continue to improve, though, and do it quickly enough to be a contender in the Atlantic Division. And yes, you should be concerned about BYU.

Mike in Clarksburg, WV, writes: Heather -It appeared that Miami tackled well against FSU (at least for most of the game). Do you think that they can slow down GT's triple option enough to secure a win next Thursday? Also, if Miami wins big, could they jump into the top ten or do they need the road win in Blacksburg for that? Thanks, Mike

HD: Well, they didn't last year, so I'm in a "believe it when I see it" mode when it comes to Miami defending the triple option. As for the rankings, I think it would take a win over Virginia Tech for the Canes to get that boost you're looking for, but it also has to do with who's doing what around the rest of the country. How far will Ohio State drop if it loses to USC, for example? But if the Canes start out 3-0, they should definitely be seriously considered as a top 10 team. And if they're 4-0? There's no question about it.

Natalie W. in Plantation, Fla., writes: With Christian Ponder and Jacory Harris out preforming the other ACC quaterbacks in week 1, would you now consider them the league's two best? I think Riley Skinner and Russell Wilson were your top two preseason QB's.

HD: Definitely not ready to make that call yet. I'm not convinced those performances we saw from Skinner and Wilson were the ones we'll see the rest of the season. The reason I wasn't fawning over Jacory was because he had only started two games. He looked great, though, and Ponder looked much better. No doubt they were the top QBs of Week 1.

WolfpackCubbie06 in Raleigh writes: Hi Heather,I'm returning with a simple request that you may already do and I missed but, could you provide a summary of who everybody is playing the upcoming weekend? I'm too apathetic to look up every single team's schedule, much less, remember what I just looked up. But I'd love to be able to just jump to the blog and see! :-)Thanks,WolfpackCubbie06

HD: Sure, I think I did something like that last year. I'll start it up again, probably on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Justin in Leicester, NC writes: I already asked if you thought that Al Groh would be fired after the season, after last weekend do you believe that Al Groh will be fired before the season ends?

HD: After what happened to Tommy Bowden last year, nothing would surprise me, but Al Groh's contract isn't up until Dec. 2011. IF they were to fire him, they'd owe him a pretty penny, and having just hired Tony Bennett, I'm honestly not sure they could afford to get rid of him just yet. I'll look into it more though.
