NC State outside linebacker Terrell Manning will enter the NFL draft, a source said, according to ESPN's Joe Schad. Manning has signed with a sports agency and begins training today. Manning was fourth on the Wolfpack with 76 tackles and led the team with 14.5 tackles for loss.
Manning will be a significant loss for NC State's defense, as he was a game-changer down the stretch and played a key role in helping the Pack to the postseason. He suffered a knee injury in the third game of the season, against South Alabama, had surgery and missed the following two games. In the final seven games of the regular season, Manning averaged nine tackles, had 11 total tackles for loss, five sacks, caused two fumbles and recovered three and intercepted two passes.
He was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week for his performance against UNC and again for the come-from-behind win over Maryland. He had seven tackles, including two for loss and a sack. He also caused and recovered a fumble against the Terps.
