There's an NCAA investigation at Miami? Really?
You'd never know by looking at the Canes' current recruiting class. In a word: wow.
When Al Golden was hired last year, he had about five minutes to fly around the country and try desperately to ink recruits, including a quarterback. This year's class is evidence of what Golden can do when everything is in place -- compete with the SEC for some of the best talent in the country. A quick recap: 11 four-star recruits, six ESPN 150 commits, and 31 total commitments.
With eight starters leaving early for the NFL draft, and an overhaul of the roster after graduation, immediate playing time should be an easy sell for Golden and his staff. Of course, you never know how these players will pan out (See: Class of 2008), but this should be an encouraging sign for Miami fans who have waited a long time for something to cheer about.
