ESPN.com has released its updated recruiting class rankings, and the ACC continues to fare well:
No. 3 Florida State
No. 5 Clemson
No. 12 Miami
No. 24 Virginia Tech
Virginia just missed the cut. The most impressive thing to me about this ranking is that Miami is here at all, let alone in the top 15. For Al Golden to have lured in such a loaded, talented class in the face of possible NCAA sanctions is beyond expectations. This isn't unfamiliar territory for the ACC, though. The league has consistently recruited well -- particularly the aforementioned schools -- but it hasn't translated into the kind of nonconference success fans are eager to see. That should start to change, especially as the more recent classes of Clemson and FSU start to develop.
