North Carolina will be without starting center Lowell Dyer and tight end Zack Pianalto for three to four weeks, according to the Tar Heels' Web site.
Dyer, a fifth-year senior, strained a muscle in his right shoulder during practice last week and did not play in Saturday's win at Connecticut. His status will be updated in three to four weeks. Dyer came to Carolina as a walk-on and earned a scholarship prior to the start of the 2008 season. He has started 16 games in his career. The absence of Dyer and Jonathan Cooper was noticeable last Saturday.
Pianalto, who played a great game at UConn until he was injured in the fourth quarter, dislocated the subtalar joint in his right foot. He'll also be re-evaluated in three to four weeks. Pianalto had career highs in receptions (7) and receiving yards (87) against the Huskies, and scored the game-tying touchdown with 2:36 remaining.
