NC State has hired Troy Walters as its wide receivers coach, the school announced on Wednesday.
Walters, who spent the past two seasons coaching the receivers at Texas A&M, won the 1999 Biletnikoff Trophy, given to the nation’s top collegiate wide receiver.
“We are excited that Troy has agreed to be a part of our staff,” coach Tom O’Brien said in a prepared statement. “He has outstanding experience as a player on the collegiate and professional levels and as a coach. He will be a great mentor and leader for our young wide receiver corps.”
Before his two-year stint in College Station, Walters spent 2009 as the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receiver coach at Indiana State.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Wolfpack family,” said Walters. “NC State has a great staff, great players and great fans and I like the direction that Coach O’Brien has the program headed. I’m looking forward to being a part of something very special here.”
