After beating up on two lesser opponents, this was the game that was supposed to tell us what NC State was all about this season, and the Wolfpack's 38-31 come-from-behind win over Pitt on Saturday told us that NC State is a better football team than it was a year ago, and that it has the fortitude to battle back and win the big games.

This is a team that can compete for the Atlantic Division this year, and for the first time under coach Tom O'Brien, NC State is ahead of the game in the first half of the season with three wins. Russell Wilson threw four touchdown passes -- again -- and rushed 10 times for 91 yards. And he did it against a formidable defense, answering any doubt some might have had after his performance against South Carolina. Yes, Russell Wilson is still that good. No, actually, he's even better. And so is NC State.
