Vote: Biggest ACC surprise so far

9/11/2012

Earlier today, HD and I weighed in with our biggest early season surprises in the ACC.

Heather wrote all about the sluggish start for NC State, a team many thought would be a dark horse this season. I wrote about Maryland being 2-0 behind the power of its defense.

So now we ask you to weigh in, and have given you three additional options in our super awesome poll. You can choose NC State or Maryland, or you can choose:

Wake Forest: The Deacs, predicted to finish fourth in the Atlantic Division, are already 1-0 in ACC play after an impressive comeback win over North Carolina. The victory came after a lackluster performance in the opener against Liberty. Give Jim Grobe major credit: the man knows how to coach.

DeAndre Hopkins: With Sammy Watkins suspended the first two games, Hopkins has taken all of the glory in the Clemson offense, with four touchdown receptions and back-to-back 100-yard games, and ranks No. 9 in the nation in total receiving yards (224). Hopkins has been so good, Heather and I listed him in our Heisman watch ballots this week.

Miami's defense: We all know Miami was going to have a major rebuilding job on defense this year, but did anybody expect the Hurricanes to have one of the worst groups in the entire country? Miami has given up 93 points in two games and ranks No. 114 in the nation in total defense.

Write-in candidates are always welcome in the comments section below.
